Health workers are being urged to test patients who are showing symptoms of tuberculosis in advance of the pandemic.

Health officials say they are seeing patients at a faster rate than they have in years and are also finding more cases.

The CDC says they are tracking more than 8,000 cases of TB in New York state, and nearly 3,000 in Minnesota.

The department says that more than 3,200 new cases of tuberculosis have been reported in the state in the last three months.

They say those numbers are consistent with the overall trend in the country.
